In Germany , the new federal subsidy for efficient buildings (BEG) for switching to renewable heating methods such as heat pumps has been in place since January 1, 2024. The use of at least 65% renewable energy will be mandatory for all new heating systems from 2028 at the latest. We know exactly which subsidies you are eligible for and how you can take advantage of them. We support you proactively so that you receive the maximum amount of funding from the state.

This is what the new BEG subsidy for heat pumps in Germany looks like:
30% basic subsid y for replacing old heating systems with renewable energy sources (e.g. air/water heat pumps)
+20% climate speed bonus (for replacing intact oil, coal, night storage or >20 year old gas heating systems if implemented by 2 028 and only for owner-occupiers)
+5% efficiency bonus for heat pumps (only for heat pumps with natural refrigerants such as R290 propane e.g. NovaAir or geothermal heat pumps) +30% income-related bonus (for taxable household income under €40,000) These subsidy rates are cumulative.e.g. NovaAir or geothermal heat pumps)
+30% income-related bonus (for taxable household income below €40,000 per year)
These subsidy rates can be cumulated, but the maximum subsidy rate is limited to a maximum of 70% .
For single-family homes or for the 1st party in a multi-family home: investment costs can be subsidized up to a maximum of €30,000. In the case of multi-family houses, the maximum eligible expenditure is increased by €15,000 for each of the 2nd to 6th residential units and by €8,000 for each of the 7th residential unit and above.

Further information on the BEG
Information for landlords and tenants: The basic subsidy is also available for landlords, but the subsidized costs may not be passed on to tenants.
Supplementary loan: There is a loan of up to €120,000 per residential unit with reduced interest rates for owner-occupiers with a taxable household income of less than €90,000. This can be applied for via your house bank.
Funding agencies are BAFA for individual efficiency measures and KfW for grants for replacing heating systems.
Attention: Note on transition period
Private owner-occupiers of single-family homes will probably be able to submit technical applications for heating subsidies to KfW from February 27, 2024. The possibility for other groups to submit applications will begin in the course of 2024 according to a timetable. From January 1, 2024, it will be possible to submit technical applications to BAFA for other efficiency measures as well as the construction, conversion and expansion of building networks.
